So now that CityCenter is open, what's happening next? Is there anything else to look forward to?
Apparently so. The Hard Rock is opening its new all-suite tower and nightclub today. Planet Hollywood is also opening its new Westgate Tower to the general public today.
And then what? Well, that's what we'll have to wait and see. Phil Ruffin seems to remain bullish on The Strip, even if he's not so optimistic about other aspects of Nevada living.
And CityCenter? The verdict is still out, but a number of experts are at least cautiously optimistic about the project's, MGM Mirage's, and ultimately Las Vegas' future success. One casino alone can't save this town, but hopefully some more visitors and a gradually recovering economy will.
2010 is fast approaching, and Las Vegas looks very ready to party in the new year. And hopefully with these new projects open and improved forecasts for tourism, there will be good reason to celebrate.
