H/T Nevada Scandalmonger
Yes, meet the new Gube-wannabe... Same as the old Gube-disaster.
Do we really need any more of the same GOoPer hot mess that has put Nevada into such a mess? Don't we deserve better?
Just asking.
"What happens in Vegas"... Will likely end up on this site. Sorry, Las Vegas Chamber.

FINALLY, Bumblin' Bunning Gives Up & Releases Unemployed Hostages!
Oh, wow. Mr. Batsh*t Crazy GOoPer has relented... And he gets a vote on his batsh*t crazy amendment in exchange!
Hehe. Again, Harry Reid played this right out of the ball park! But wait, I thought Jim Bunning was the "Hall of Famer" here?
So at least we'll see unemployment benefits restored this month for the nearly 20,000 Nevadans (and over 1 million other Americans) whose benefits were dropped over the weekend. However, the damage will still be done. (H/T Open Left)
So thanks to Jim Bunning and his fellow batsh*t crazy radical right Rethuglicans, these 20,000 Nevadans will still see interruptions of their benefits, and may go without food and be late on their bills. Thanks for nothing, Teabagger Zombie Death Cult!
Well, hopefully Harry Reid can start cleaning up Bunning's mess tonight with the vote. Let Bunning's idiotic amendment get voted down and get these benefits moving again. These workers paid out of their own pockets for unemployment insurance and the vast majority of them are moving as quickly as possible to find a new job. It's simply been unfair and cruel for the Rethugs to hold up their benefits, and hopefully the American people are getting a better idea of what the GOP is all about (and why we don't want them to have any more power in Congress!).
Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) has accepted a deal to drop his one-man filibuster of a bill that would extend expiring unemployment benefits for hundreds of thousands of people.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office has confirmed to TPMDC that Bunning accepted the deal, but declined to provide details.
Bunning, in exchange for dropping his objection, will get one vote on an amendment to pay for the bill, which will cost an estimated $10 billion. Bunning's amendment to pay for the bill will be the only amendment allowed on the floor. A final vote is scheduled to begin at 8:30 tonight.

Sen. Jim Bunning's (R-Ky.) one-man filibuster ended on Tuesday.
Bunning agreed to stop blocking legislation to extend benefits and COBRA health plan subsidies to the unemployed after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) agreed to allow him a vote on an amendment to pay for the $10 billion bill.
It's the same deal Bunning was offered last week, but Bunning at the time decided to continue his fight. He'd been holding up an extension of the benefits since Thursday. [...]
Andrew Stettner of NELP says that, no matter what, some 205,000 people won't get a check this week, since it takes anywhere from two to six weeks for the states to get their bureaucracies geared up. "We've already crossed the Rubicon. Now, we have to play catch-up," he says. [Emphasis mine.]

NV-03: Dina Hits Back on GOoPers Holding the Unemployed Hostage
Did the Rethuglicans really expect to get away with this one?
And now, it's more than just one GOoPer. A few more are actually coming to his defense!
And rumor has it that Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Arizona) is also moving behind Bunning's blocking of unemployment aid to try to force a deal that includes an estate tax cut. Now doesn't that sound "fiscally responsible"? For all their talk (more like whining) of "DEBT! DEBT! DEBT!", they didn't mind George Bush adding $5 trillion to the national debt with his tax cuts for the super-rich and invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. So let's try to get this right: Jim Bunning, Jon Kyl, and a handful of other Republicans want to keep blocking unemployment benefits until they can get their estate tax cuts for the super-rich that do nothing to stimulate the economy and only add to the debt?
GOP hypocrisy in action! Or is it inaction?
So what else can I say? Oh, I'll just let Shelley say it.
Ignoring that she’s a freshman congresswoman and he’s a two-term senator, Democratic Rep. Dina Titus leveled a broadside against Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky, who is holding up an extension of unemployment benefits for out-of-work Nevadans.
For days, Bunning has blocked a vote on extending jobless benefits, saying he believes the aid should not be added to the national debt.
But as he makes his case, nearly 20,000 out-of-work Nevadans, among more than 1 million Americans nationwide, will run out of benefits this month unless the program is extended. Nearly 176,000 Nevadans are out of work.
“Sen. Bunning’s obstructionist delay tactics are a perfect example of why the American people think Washington is broken,” Titus said.
With Southern Nevada residents “facing high unemployment, a foreclosure crisis and skyrocketing health care costs, they want to see elected officials working together,” she said. “Unfortunately, one Republican in the Senate is standing in the way.”

Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley fired off a pointed statement — though she did not name names.
“With Nevada’s unemployment rate in double digits and families relying on these benefits to put food on the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this move will only punish those in our community who are already struggling,” Berkley said.
