Heck of a Recess

Congress is now in August Recess. This is when Members of Congress are supposed to do "constituent outreach". And this is when they're supposed to explain to constituents what Congress has been doing.

Congress had a chance to do something on comprehensive immigration reform (CIR). And in fact, the Senate passed S 744 back in June. But because House G-O-TEA "leaders" care more about pandering to their base than passing any meaningful policy, Congress has gone to recess without the House passing its own CIR legislation.

Last week, Rep. Joe Heck (R-"TEA" Curious) had to face some special home state visitors with questions on the fate of CIR... And what he intends to do to change it. Today, Miracle Workers and local Henderson OFA activists joined forces to send Rep. Heck a(nother) message on immigration reform.

A few of the activists even told their own stories. There were immigrants, family members, and educators sharing their own personal stories. They explained like no one else could why CIR is so important.

Yep, even Raffi came by to send Rep. Heck a message. Did he listen?

That's what we'll find out soon. Congress will eventually have to get back to work next month. Will Rep. Joe Heck actually encourage his House Republican colleagues to get working on immigration reform?
